During our Computing lesson we used our click and drag skills to sort out shapes and colours into groups in PowerPoint.
In DT, we have made our own vehicle out of recycled materials. We were able to make our own axle and wheels, to make our vehicle move!
We had a great day celebrating Red Nose Day 2025!

On Wednesday, we used our skills to use a map and find different sounds that were hidden around our playground. We also marked on the maps which sound we had found!
In PE, we practiced our throwing skills by throwing a bean bag in a hoop! Then, we played a game of hungry hippos where each team had to collect the bean bags. The children were very supportive and cheered their friends on!
This afternoon, we learned about Remembrance Day! Then, we made our own poppy sun-catchers which are displayed on our cloakroom windows.
We had some bubble time on the playground as a reward for filling our class reward star jar! Very well deserved after a fab week.
It was a lovely autumn day, so we took a walk around the school to observe the seasonal changes. The children worked together, exploring the school grounds and discovering the signs of autumn.
We made our own leaves to decorate our wooden tree in the cloakroom! We placed a leaf under a sheet of paper and placed another piece on top. Then we used a crayon to press against the paper. The children were amazed!
In Maths, we have been looking at tens and ones. We used the dienes to make numbers from 10 to 20 with our partner. The children all did a great job! The children were even challenged to make numbers above 20.
During our computing lesson we used a mouse to click and drag jigsaw pieces to fit them together. Later, we used Paintz.app to create some beautiful pictures.
In History, we have been looking at toys from today and toys from the past. Miss Craig’s Nanna kindly allowed us to have a look at her toys, from when she was younger. The children enjoyed looking at the different toys and we talked about how they are different to the toys they play with now. We also looked at a photo of children in a classroom from over 100 years ago! The children were so intrigued when they looked at the photo and they asked lots of questions.
Here are more photos from our afternoon with the Year 5 children, showcasing the fantastic sporting stations they created for us.
We had a fantastic afternoon with Sycamore Class (Year 5), who designed their own sports stations for us to enjoy. It was great fun learning new skills and trying out some exciting new equipment!
The children have enjoyed having fun in PE with Craig from the Foundation of Light! We played a game called treasure, where each team had to collect as much treasure from the middle of the hall. Then, we practiced our ball skills and had a go at shooting, at the end of the lesson.
In Art, we have been looking at colour mixing. Firstly, we named the three primary colours, which all the children remembered from last year in Reception. We used coloured cellophane, to see what happened when we put two colours near the window, the children were all amazed, they could see a third colour. Then we explored mixing the colours together using paint, to see which colours they would make.
