Year 6 have been working very hard to prepare for there SAT's. We had a lovely afternoon enjoying Yoga and spent some time revising areas of maths that the children felt they needed more help with.
Year 6 have been turning the famous children's book 'The Snail and the Whale' into their own David Attenborough style piece of writing. We can't wait to share the final products with you!
We had an amazing afternoon on our maths trail at Barnes Park!
Year 6 have been working hard to read and interpret bar charts. They even created their own, well done!
Year 6 have been enjoying the sunshine! We have tidied up our plant boxes, removed all of the weeds, added some new bulbs and made sure all of the plants were watered. It is definitely starting to feel like spring!
We had an amazing circuit training session today! Well done Year 6!

We had an excellent visit to SafetyWorks yesterday, learning about the emergency services and how to keep ourselves safe in everyday life.
We completed a workshop with Loti, from the charity Make Life Kind. He told us about the importance of being kind to one another and how we can help combat bullying.
We've had a busy week! We started with some yoga, created a watercolour painting, explored the human eye in Science and took part in 'Non-fiction November'.
We had a fantastic afternoon with The National Gallery! We explored Canaletto's artwork and used the colours from the painting to inspire our own. We got many compliments and did our school proud.
This morning, we have been working with artist Kerry Cook! We created our own arctic scenes using only watercolours and oil pastels. Kerry was so impressed with our work that she invited us back for a second workshop.
We are very relaxed after our yoga session this afternoon. Our yoga instructor was proud of our listening, concentration and flexibility!
We continued reading Goodnight Mister Tom, explored The Circulatory System, sketched some houses using a two point perspective and learnt how to play the piano using two hands. What a busy week!
In Year 6 music, we have been using keyboards to compose our own tunes based on the Solfege scale.
Hazel Class spent the afternoon exploring artifacts from World War II. The children worked together at their tables, discussing the artifacts laid out in front of them. There were some interesting discussions about what the items might have been used for.
The Year 6 classes came together for an autumn walk to Pod Park. The purpose of the walk was to explore the autumn scenery, which will inspire our English writing later in the week.
Hazel class have made an excellent start to the year. We have started reading Goodnight Mister Tom in English and have been working hard on our presentation too.
Hazel Class have had a fantastic first day back!
We've already made a brilliant start and can already tell we're going to have an excellent year!
