Happy Sign Language Week!

Yesterday, the whole school had an assembly about British Sign Language (BSL). We learnt about the importance of BSL and how it became its own language. We also practiced a lot of signs which was fun to see!

We also discussed about the Deaf Flag -  each colour represents something:

• Turquoise Blue represents the deaf community and Sign Language, pride and unity.
• Yellow represents the colour of light, an enlightened spirit, life and "thriving in unison".
• Dark Blue represents the Earth, humanity and living in accordance with the planet. Dark Blue also indicates Deafhood.
