As part of our curriculum offer we aim to organise a residential experience every year for our older children. We recognise the importance of residential visits in building confidence and independence as well as providing our children with experiences that they may not otherwise have. We have provisionally enquired about taking 40 children on the residential visit. The places will be open to all Year 6 pupils first and then any remaining places will be offered to Year 5 children. The trip can only go ahead if all 40 places are filled.
This year we are proposing to take the children for a 2 night/3-day visit to London on 21st – 23rd June 2022. The children will stay in a hotel in London, be transported to, from and around London in a coach with our own personal tour guide and be accompanied by a number of school staff. Whilst in London we will go to the theatre to see The Lion King, ride the London Eye, visit Buckingham Palace, The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum and much more.
The cost of the visit will be approximately £280 per child, however school are willing to heavily subsidise the cost of the visit and the cost to parents would therefore be £100. (Pupils entitled to Free School Meals – or have ever been entitled to Free School Meals may be entitled to a bursary after discussion with Mrs Jones/Mrs Jenner as they are classed as Pupil Premium Children and school received extra funding to offset financial difficulties). This cost includes all transport, meals, accommodation and activities.
We will complete a risk assessment prior to departure that looks at health, safety and covid measures that will be in place to keep everyone safe. We have the appropriate insurance already in place and will be using a reputable company who specialise in providing residential visits to schools.
