Red Nose Day
Once again, we have decided that we would like to support Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day. This year it will take place on Friday, 24th March, 2017 and as this year’s slogan is ‘Make your laugh matter!’, we hope that the children will have fun and laugh a lot again this year.
Marked every two years, Red Nose Day gives people across the land the opportunity to get together and do something funny for money. Red Nose Day 2016 raised an amazing £99,418,831.
To raise as much money as we can to support the charity this year, we have decided to do lots of exciting things, including:
- A non-uniform day
- A cake sale
- A comedy classroom
For a £1 donation, children may come to school dressed:
- Wearing red clothes
- Wearing Red Nose Day sponsored clothing, such as t-shirts, red noses, glasses, etc
- Everyday clothes such as jeans and a t-shirt
We will also be holding a cake sale. Parents/carers are welcome to bring their child to school anytime between 8.15am and 8.45am to join us in buying a cake and enjoying a cuppa. Children are to remain in the supervision of parents/carers until 8.45am, where they should be taken to the usual entrance ready for Magic Breakfast. If you would like to donate any cakes/biscuits to the sale, please send them into school by Thursday, 23rd March, 2017.
At different points throughout the day, a buzzer will be heard. On hearing the sound, all classes will stop what they are doing and get out their joke box. Jokes will be read out and hopefully laughter will be heard as far as Durham Road! In preparation for this, we would love it if all of the children could write down their favourite joke on the attached sheet and bring it into school by Wednesday, 22nd March, 2017. The funnier the better!
