Year 6 SATs Information
Dear Parents
As you will no doubt be aware, the Key Stage 2 SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) are rapidly approaching. These are tests in Reading, Maths, Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPAG) and are sat by all children across the country in Year 6 at the same time. The tests are taken to assess the progress of a child’s learning during their primary school phase.
The children have worked extremely hard this year, we are delighted with their efforts and progress. We will send the children home with a pack of short tasks for the Easter holidays, just to keep all of their learning fresh in their memory. If this could be returned to school on the first day back after the holidays this would be appreciated as we will go over any misconceptions then.
SATs week this year begin on Monday 9th May. Please see below for the timetable.

We will be starting tests promptly at 9:00am and we are asking that the Year 6 children come into school during SATs week (Monday-Thursday) in between 8:15am and 8:30am. We will serve the children a hot breakfast – sausage sandwiches, bacon sandwiches or beans on toast which will help to boost brain power before for the challenge ahead.
Once the children have completed their tests the scripts are sent away to external markers, results will be with us in July before the summer holidays, these will be shared with children and parents as soon as we have them.
If you have any questions about the SATs please get in touch with one of the Year 6 team.
Have a lovely Easter break.
Yours sincerely
